Via Aggiejournalists, here’s some info on Abilene Christian University’s new Student Media News Lab, which puts the multimedia into one location.
The JMC/network comprises print, broadcast and online products. Students work for the network both curricularly, through their courses, and co-curricularly … Among other features of the renovated spaces are a faculty/student commons, an advertising and public relations agency, faculty offices and a 65-seat smart classroom outfitted for video podcasting.
Here’s a link to a slideshow of the newsroom in action. ACU was the first school that has been able to provide every incoming student with an iPhone/iPod Touch.
