Reuters’ mojo kit
December 6, 2007 in Multimedia views
Via Mark Hamilton, check out the Reuters “mojo” mobile journalist kit. It’s a cell phone (a Nokia N95), a keyboard, tripod, microphone and solar charger. The phone costs $700, but it replaces a full laptop, still camera and video camera. #
The N95 is one of the best innovations to come out of mobile communication technology and can wholeheatedly do the job. It's vital using such portable tecdhnology to be comfortable entering data and a good quality and sized keyboard will definitely enable that.
I've been using such a combo for a couple of years and it can be easily as productive as a laoptop and way more practical to carry around, especiually if you get a folding keyboard where possible.
There is an alternative to Mojo kit as reported at: http://www.journalism.co.uk/2/articles/530925.php
This application Wavelog supports Open Source Web publishing platforms like WordPress, Drupal and Joomla so it's a great option for education mobile blogs.
