Glad to hear that your laptop was still working 12+ hours after we resurrected it
You'll have to let me know how the AEJMC panel went.
For those who are interested, here's what Bryan and I had to do to get his laptop working again: First of all, his DVD drive wasn't working, and we didn't have the MacBook Pro installation media that shipped with his machine anyway. Instead, I started up my Mac Pro with the installation media that shipped with it. We connected Bryan's laptop to my Mac Pro via FireWire in target disk mode (hold down T as you boot), and voila—we were able to install OS X onto his laptop.
