The Associated Collegiate Press has released their list of finalists for the 2007 Online Pacemaker awards. Here’s the official list at the ACP site. Winners will be announced at the ACP/CMA Fall College Media Convention in October in Washington, D.C. #

Below the fold, I’ve included a thumbnail screenshot of each finalist in all the categories (in no particular order). This is mainly for visual reference. A couple of things to note: Most of the sites use College Publisher as their content management system, although there are a good number of home-grown sites, and at least three that use open-source CMS’s. The judges were from the Washington Post. If I had to pick any feature that all of the sites shared, it was a wealth of information on the front page. Some are more visually appealing than others, but that’s not a good indicator of why those web sites got chosen, as others are not that appealing visually. #

As I noted when I did this with last year’s online pacemakers, I’d like to hear what the judges have to say. I mentioned this to Marc Wood at ACP as well, and hopefully ACP will take that into consideration when they announce the winners. #
