Experimenting with Splashcast

splashcast

Splashcast is a service that lets you aggregate videos and other content and create your own distribution channel. J.D. Lasica pointed it out earlier today (here’s his splashcast channel), and I just experimented with it a little myself. I uploaded some of the media-related videos I’ve seen recently on the ICM Spashcast page.

I can see where this would be a beneficial tool for a college media outlet experimenting with new media. It allows you to place your content into one channel that people can subscribe to. Over the next few days, I plan to explore some of the other ways it might be used. If anyone has ideas, or experiments with this as well, let me know in the comments.

That’s really cool! I really like the player for Splashcast, cause it gives the viewer all kinds of crazy control.
What I really need is a way to aggregate all the multimedia I’d like to point to. Right now, everything gets stuck under “Inspiration” in my del.icio.us links.

[…] Bryan Murley and I started playing with SplashCast at around the same time. He used it to aggregate some media videos. I’ve been puttering around with showing off pictures and videos of my own. […]
