Online ads up, print down
February 15th, 2007 by Ralph BrasethNewspaper publishers continue to see sizable increases in online ad revenues according to The Newspaper Association of America.
The good news: Advertising for newspaper Web sites increased by 23 percent to $638 million in the third quarter versus the same period a year ago.
The not so good news: Spending for print ads in newspapers down 2.6 percent from the same period a year ago.
The increase in online growth was not enough to make up for the losses in print, but publishers see a silver lining especially in real estate ads. The full story.
