AP and Cit-J; AP and video stills

A couple of items to note from the Associated Press (hmmm, that name sounds really out of date, doesn’t it?):

The AP is teaming up with the News is Now Public to bring citizen journalism onto the wire. Press release here. Few details at this time, but it’s clear this cit-j stuff isn’t going anywhere, whether we “need it” or not.

And, the AP has moved its first still frame grab from a digital HD video camera on the photo wire (via Doug Fisher).

I was talking about using HD video cameras at the Nebraska workshop yesterday, showing some of the work the Dallas Morning News has been doing. Here’s one of the workshop participants talking about HD video and some of the potential hiccups on his blog.
