College news online sites: Canadian edition

December 18, 2006 in Websites

Following up on the success of a previous experiment in posting screen captures of various college news sites, I decided to expand the experiment a little. Today, I have some screen captures from Canadian universities’ student newspapers, along with a few online products produced by journalism schools. #

For comparison, here’s the earlier piece on U.S. college news sites. And before we get started, I have to send a big shout out to Mark Hamilton who provided me with a list of sites to check out. There are obviously many more Canadian news sites out there, and I hope to get to some more in the future. If you’re familiar with some Canadian schools who have online sites, reply in the comments. #

I’m also hoping to expand this to other countries, and I’ve got some research feelers out right now. Again, I am not too well-versed in the student media situation in other parts of the world, so any assistance is greatly appreciated. #

A couple of other things to note: Canadian publications are not using a common platform like College Publisher, as far as I can tell, so there seems to be a wider variety of formats. #

Now, on to the content. Tell us which ones you like best and why. #
