Post-election update: McAdams takes on online storytelling

November 9, 2006 in Tech Talk

My apologies for the lack of material these past three days. I was hobbled by an unidentified flu-like illness on election night and am just now recovering my energies. And just in time to point you to Mindy McAdams’ good summary of online project planning: Making online journalism, part 1.I won’t recap Mindy’s summary (that would ruin the effect of pointing you to her site), but I will say that all of the media types she mentions are easily handled with software and inexpensive hardware these days. There is literally NO EXCUSE for your student journalists to be avoiding multimedia storytelling. #

As always, the key to journalism is the story and the truth. I will quote Mindy here: #

Everything you put online should be accurate, interesting, short and well edited. #

All of those are achievable – now. #
