The Knight Foundation is offering $5 million this year for great new ideas that link new media and geography; using new media as a conduit for communication and the building of physical community. Like us at CICM, the Knight Foundation believes some of the very best ideas will
come from the minds of highly creative 20-something-year-olds.
Ralph Braseth caught up with Knight’s Journalism Initiatives Program Officer, Gary Kebbel, who shared some insights into how our brightest college students might tap into some of this money and perhaps help create part of the future of journalism along the way.
Listen to the podcast, and read more about the challenge here: Knight Brothers 21st Century News Challenge. I think this is a great way to start off the Thanksgiving week, since communing is what the holiday is all about.
