NYTimes Flash animation of the flight path of the plane crash that killed NY Yankees pitcher Eric Lidle: Small plane hits building in Manhattan. I think it’s a little much, but an interesting use of Flash to illustrate time and space. #

you'd make it worth my while reading this blog to tell us how you thought it was too much. i thought it was great.
Chris,
I thought it was a great illustration, and the movement through the screens was excellent as well. I'd expect nothing less from the Times. On the other hand, it was a two-person airplane that flew into a building. If it had not been Terry Lidle but just some Joe Schmoe pilot, would the Times have spent so much creative energy illustrating the entire flight plan, FCC regulations, and location of this experience? That's where the "a bit much" statement comes in.
I would have expected that type of effort if there were some sort of "motive" behind the plane crash, if it were a bigger plane, or if the celebrity were someone like John Kennedy Jr.
Thanks for reading, and I hope that answers your question.
