NYT attempts to soothe the savage mac enthusiasts

Update: My first impression of the Times Reader software.

The Times is learning something from its release of the beta version of Times Reader: Mac users are a boisterous crowd.

Since yesterday, when the beta was released, the Times has posted an entry on its “First Look” weblog titled “For the Mac Users. I even got a second e-mail after I sent a note to the Times expressing my displeasure.

It’s obvious that the beta has rubbed a lot of people in the Mac community the wrong way, else the Times wouldn’t have responded so quickly.

Ultimately the response is a “non-response,” sort of a Clintonesque “I feel your pain” response to a committed community of users who will likely be waiting a long time before being able to experience Times Reader.
