About Us

The Center for Innovation in College Media was founded in 2006 as a division of a nonprofit educational corporation (Federal EIN 23-7030713) headquartered on the campus of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.

In its first year of operation, the Center for Innovation in College Media emerged as a national leader for college media operations transitioning from traditional print to digital distribution. Launched by a group of veteran advisers, the CICM is laser-focused on serving as an idea incubator and training center for college new media. Promoting excellence in online media is our exclusive purpose.

Organizational membership is by publication/medium and not by school. Each student staff member, adviser and/or faculty member affiliated with the medium becomes an active member for one year from the date the membership is received.

Active individual memberships are available to college media advisers, faculty, non-student professional staff members, and associate individual memberships are available to interested individuals who work in new media or are affiliated with college media.
